Uniforms

All students in grades K-6 wear uniforms, unless a non-uniform day is declared by the principal or the student has a non-uniform day pass. A uniform exchange is held at SJV every August, and uniforms may also be purchased at Donald's Apparel and Uniforms at 972 Payne Ave, St. Paul, MN 55130.

Girls Uniforms:

  • Blue/green plaid jumpers or skort from K-6, grades 5 & 6 have the option of a skirt (not to be worn with slacks). When wearing a skirt or jumper, black or navy blue shorts need to be worn underneath. (09/2009)
  • Blouses: white only with either peter pan or classic collar in uniform style with long or short sleeves are to only worn with a jumper. (09/2009)
  • Polo shirts: red or white long or short sleeve. All shirts must be tucked into pants.
  • turtlenecks: red or white.
  • Sweaters/sweatshirts: sweaters in navy cardigan or SJV sweatshirts (red, gray, or royal blue) may be worn over the regular uniform shirt/blouse.
  • Slacks: navy blue uniform style twill may be worn in place of the jumper or skirt.
  • Shorts: navy blue uniform style shorts may be worn as an option to slacks or jumper/skirt during Sept./October and April/June (unseasonable weather may dictate a change).
  • Socks: red, navy blue, white anklets, knee highs or tights.
  • Banded bottom shirts
  • Hooded SJV logo sweatshirts (1/10/2008)

Boys Uniforms:

  • Pants: uniform style only navy blue twill
  • Shorts: navy blue uniform style shorts may be worn as an option to slacks during Sept./October and April/June (unseasonable weather may dictate a change).
  • Polo shirts: red or white long or short sleeve. All shirts must be tucked into pants.
  • turtlenecks: red or white.
  • Sweaters/sweatshirts: sweaters/navy cardigan or SJV sweatshirts (red, gray, or royal blue) may be worn over the uniform shirt.

All polo shirts that are worn with pants, shorts, skorts or skirts need to be embroidered with St. John Vianney School on them. SJV has a person that will be embroidering the shirts for a fee. At the start of the school year, you may bring your shirts into the school office and fill out a form for them to be sewn. All polo shirts will need to have been brought from Donalds.
