I have worked in the archdiocese for the past 21 years. I taught junior high
American History for 20 years and accepted the position as the Principal of St.
John Vianney School this past summer. I received a bachelor’s degree from
Northern Michigan University in 1986 and then moved to the Twin Cities. I
earned a Master of Education from St. Mary’s University in 2000 and then an
Administrative degree from St. Mary’s in 2005.

I started at St. John Vianney in the fall of 2006. I have two children that attend
SJV. I enjoy watching all the children grow from year to year and seeing all the
new children join our school. I’m very excited to be a part of the SJV community
and plan to enjoy many years here.
Preschool Teacher/Director

This is my fourth year at St. John Vianney Little Learners Preschool. I embarked
on my teaching career after 20 years as a stay-at-home mom. I received my Master
of Arts in Education from the College of St. Catherine in 2005. My thesis work
focused on helping young children learn through play. I enjoy my days with
preschoolers; I get to see the world through their wonder filled eyes.

Mrs. Ceppechi
I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from the College of St.
Benedict. Later I enrolled in Special Education classes from St. Cloud State
University. After college I taught one year of first grade at Highland Catholic
School in St. Paul. I later taught four years at St. Richard's School in Richfield. I
was able to spend 23 years as a stay-at-home mom and home day care provider.
This is my second year as a preschool assistant at St. John Vianney School in
South St. Paul.
Preschool
Mrs. Barrett
I live in South St. Paul with my husband and two girls. My degree is in child
development and I continue my education through child development classes. I
have been teaching for 10 years. I have worked with all different ages and found
pre-school the best fit.
Kindergarten

Hi! I have been teaching kindergarten at St. John Vianney for 10 years, and I’m
looking forward to more ahead! I have previously taught first grade at St.
Bernard’s in St. Paul, and preschool in Marshall, MN. I attended the College of
St. Catherine, earning a B.A. in Elementary Education. I also did some
postgraduate work at Hamline University and I am currently earning a masters
degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of St. Thomas.
1st Grade

I graduated from the College of St. Catherine with a B.A. in elementary
education, pre-school to grade 6. My first teaching experience was at Blessed
Sacrament school in St. Paul. While there, I started the kindergarten program. I
then came here, to St. John Vianney School, where I have been teaching first
grade for the past 21 years. I am currently attending Hamline University's
graduate school to become a reading specialist.
2nd Grade

I graduated from the College of St. Catherine with a B.S. in Elementary
Education. In 1999 I began my teaching career at St. John Vianney as the
second grade teacher. I am currently earning a masters degree in curriculum
and instruction from the University of St. Thomas.
3rd Grade
Ms. Schneider (email: shneidern3@gmail.com)
This is my 28th year as the third grade teacher at SJV. Prior to SJV, I was the
second grade teacher at Holy Trinity School. I graduated from the College of St.
Benedict with a BA degree in Elementary Education, K-6. Then, in 1985, I
received a Masters of Education Degree in Remedial and Developmental
Reading, 1-12, from St. Thomas. Teaching at SJV has been and continues to be
a very rewarding experience.
4th Grade

I have been teaching for 20 years and 18 have been at St. John Vianney School.
I received my BA from the College of St. Catherine and my MA from the
University of St. Thomas in Curriculum and Instruction.
I am an alumnus of SJV and 2 of my 3 children attended SJV.
5th Grade
Mr. Berry (pberry@saintjohnvianneyschool.org)
I graduated from St. Thomas Academy in '99. I then attended Saint Mary's
University in Winona MN where I received my teaching degree in Early
Childhood Development and graduated in '03. I started teaching here at Saint
John Vianney in the fall of 2003. Currently, I am involved in SJV's intramural
activities and summer camps. I also coach girls’ varsity soccer at Saint Bernard's
in St. Paul. This is truly a special place where teaching and learning is a lifestyle.
6th Grade
Mrs. Skree (jskree@excite.com)
I graduated from Winona State University in 1975 with a major in elementary
education and a minor in special education. I received my master’s degree in
developmental and remedial reading in 1981 from the University of St. Thomas.
My teaching experience includes three years teaching 6th and 1st grades at St.
Anne’s School in LeSueur, Minnesota. I have taught 6th grade at St. John
Vianney since 1978. During my years teaching, I have served as a relicensure
representative and have supervised the school patrol.
Library
Ms. Pepperwolf
I graduated from St. Norbert’s College in Wisconsin and taught art for 2 years
before moving to Minnesota. Since moving to Minnesota I have taught in the
Catholic Schools for 22 years. I taught 4th graders and kindergarteners, and 3 years
of preschool for Lao Family. In 1993, I received my Master's Degree in
Curriculum and Instruction from the University of St Thomas. This is my 10th year
as Librarian and Public Achievement Coordinator.
Technology Coordinator
Mr. McCoy
I graduated with an Information Technology Associate degree from Hennepin
Technical College. Worked in the graphics industry until 1997 when I began work
for School District 199, Inver Grove Heights. I began work for the Archdiocese in
1999 until present. I am a USAF veteran; I have worked in consumer electronics
repair, as an air traffic controller, and as a semi-truck driver. Our computer lab
offers word processing, keyboarding, Internet, art projects, presentations and
Robolab curriculum. We also have a wireless laptop mobile lab.
Spanish Teacher
Mrs. McKay
Hola. This is my Sixth year teaching the Spanish language for elementary
students grades K-6th two days a week at SJV. I am a native Spanish
speaker from Cali, Colombia. I came to the United States (Minnesota) in April of
2000. When I arrived I started taking English classes right away to improve my
English and communication skills. In the fall of 2006 I became a U.S. citizen.

Physical Education
Ms. Wees
I received my Bachelors Degree in Physical Education and Health K-12 from
Bemidji State University. I have earned additional certificates in the areas of
Drivers Education and Coaching. I have worked at St. John Vianney and St.
Michael School in West St. Paul since 1998. Prior to beginning at SJV I
worked in Canby, MN as a high school teacher for 4 years.
Music
Mrs. Gernes
This is my third year teaching at SJV, and I believe that SJV has a welcoming
environment and is a nurturing place for children to grow and learn. I have taught
vocal and liturgical music in the Winona Area Catholic Schools, Winona, MN and
the Twin City area for 20+ years. I have also taught private voice and Spanish
in grades 1-3. I have a BA from St. Olaf College with a concentration in music
education and vocal performance and a minor in Spanish, and a BS from Winona
State University in elementary education. I continue to take graduate courses at
St. Thomas University in music education and vocal pedagogy.
